Vision and Purpose: Combahee Lives!

Family!
"The most general statement of our politics at the present time would be that we are actively committed to struggling against racial, sexual, heterosexual and class oppression and see as our particular task the development of integrate systems of analysis and practice based upon the fact that the major systems of oppression are interlocking."

When I interviewed the brilliant, passionate, Kitchen Table Press and Combahee River Collective founding Barbara Smith last week she was SO excited to hear about the work the UBUNTU did in the context of the work the she was part of in responding to the 1979 Boston Murders. Inspired by Barbara Smith and also by the SpiritHouse's process to clarify and affirm it's vision and mission I am sending out this activity...section one of the Combahee Survival Revival Zine that we worked on together in May. This section features and was designed by Griffin HY, Julia Wallace and yours truly!

You each inspire me so much. What would you say is the purpose of the work you are most deeply engaged in right now? What are you "actively committed to" these days?
and use this zine (I'll be releasing the zine a section at a time for the next 26 weeks) however you want.

Print it! Download it! Share it! Drool and dream about it!
LOVE,
Lex
